Let’s clear something up before we get started: a singles ski trip is not a speed dating holiday lol. Nobody’s handing out name badges on the chairlift.
It’s a long weekend of mountains, apres and fun activities with a group of genuinely lovely people who all happen to be single. If something happens, amazing. If you just make ten new mates, also amazing. ✌️
And if you need a little convincing, here are our top five reasons to book a singles ski trip with us this winter.
1. meet new people without the small talk
On a singles ski trip, you’ll never be stuck for something to say because the slopes give you plenty to talk about. Whether you’re sharing a chairlift up a mountain, dancing away at an apres-ski social or tucking into a delicious breakfast together, small talk doesn’t get a look-in.
Doing something together is one of the easiest ways to take the awkwardness out of meeting new people. Why? Because it gets the conversation flowing naturally.
With the slopes, the views and a full line-up of fun activities, there’s no time to worry about what to say next. Besides, that’s the rep’s job.
We host the welcome night, mixers and introductions, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the ice. x
2. everyone on a singles ski trip is in the same chairlift
Nervous about going solo? Honestly, going to dating events alone is totally normal as is going on a solo skiing holiday. Around 94% of our guests come on their own, so you definitely won’t be the odd one out.
Remember, everyone is single and there for the same reasons as you, which makes it the perfect trip to really get to know each other.
Rooms are shared with same-gender guests. If you’re staying at the Apres Lodge, we use our matching technology to group people with similar evening and morning preferences. So if you’re a lie-in person, your roommates won’t be waking you up at 6am.
And if you’re worried about what everyone will make of you, chances are they like you more than you think. Research published by the Association for Psychological Science found that we tend to underestimate how much new people like us – something the reseacher’s call the ‘liking gap’, which can make it harder to build new relationships.
So, a word to the wise – don’t overthink it. 🫶

3. you don’t need to be good at skiing (most people aren’t)
On our trips, ski groups are based on ability, so everyone can enjoy the mountain at their own pace.
If you’re an experienced skier, you’ll be matched with people on a similar level. And if you’ve never skied before? Well, falling over is basically an icebreaker, so you’ll be doing our job for us lol. 😅
Honestly, if you’re a beginner, don’t panic! On our last trip, a group booked ski lessons every day, with instructors tailoring each lesson to their ability. Learning something new together is also one of the quickest ways to bond.
Between apres, the games room, the private bar and plenty of free time to relax, nobody has to spend all day on the mountain. You can get involved as much or as little as you like.
4. going as a group takes the pressure off
A one-on-one date rests entirely on one person and one conversation. With a group, you’ve got loads of opportunities to connect with different people over a long weekend. If you click with someone on day two instead of day one, that’s fine. Nobody’s keeping score.
On a one-on-one date, it can also feel like all eyes are on you. In a group, the attention is naturally shared – plus, everyone’s too busy worrying about themselves to notice.
A singles ski trip isn’t an intense dating holiday. If you hit it off with someone, amazing – but there’s no pressure. And the worst-case scenario? You come home with a camera roll full of memories and a group chat full of new mates.
Not a bad way to spend a weekend, if you ask us. x

5. you see people as they actually are
No bio, no six curated photos. You see people for who they are: whether they’re kind to the chalet staff and whether they’ll help you up when you’ve fallen off a T-bar (it happens). 😂
Spending a long weekend together means you get to notice the stuff that really matters – how someone treats people, whether you laugh at the same things and whether you feel like yourself around them.
It’s the kind of thing you’d never pick up from dating apps (we go into it more in what makes two people compatible?).
It’s a few days of seeing people in real, unfiltered situations – breakfast together every morning, days on the slopes, a scavenger hunt. Nobody can keep up a filtered version of themselves for that long.
Research from UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center shows that doing new and exciting things together helps people feel closer – and whizzing down a mountain is definitely one of them.
And the best bit? It works both ways. You don’t have to nail the perfect opener or the perfect profile – people get to know the real you, wobbly ski legs and all. 🎿
