We’re so excited to be partnering with the legends over at Bola Beach Tennis to throw an afterwork social on their courts in Hackney Wick…
Combining elements of tennis, padel and beach volleyball, beach tennis is an iconic concept that Brazilian born founders Fab and Alex have brought over to the UK all the way from Rio. It’s lively, beginner friendly and a great way to connect with new people over a bit of friendly competition…
Here’s the plan…
6pm – arrive, meet the group and enjoy a free Tenzing on us. 94% of our guests join events solo, and reps from both Bola and Haystack will be making sure everyone’s integrated
6.20pm – we’ll match you into groups of people who you’ve got similar interests to, grab rackets and the Bola coaches will run through the basics of the sport
6.30-8.15pm – coaches will run a combination of drills, team games and friendly matches, rotating groups as we go so everyone gets the chance to meet as many new people as possible
8.15-10pm – we’ll wind down with a beer as a group and discuss our plans for olympic registration in the future x
Space is limited and when they courts are full they’re full, so we’d encourage being speedy on this one and as ever if you have any questions please do drop us an email, we’re here to help x
We’re a small business and we absolutely bloody love what we do, if you have any questions please get in touch and please feel free to check out our reviews here!
See you on the beach?

Questions?
What is beach tennis?
A combination of tennis, padel and beach volleyball, played on sand courts. Bola coaches are on hand throughout the session and the vibe is relaxed, fun and healthy competition.
What do I wear?
Beach tennis is best enjoyed barefoot, so whatever sports kit you feel most comfortable in and a jumper for the evening drinks. We’ve private hired the space, so if you’ll be coming with a work bag there is space to leave it but please kindly note these are not lockers that can be padlocked, they are open storage units x
I’m not athletic and don’t want to embarrass myself?!
The longest thing our founder Lucy has ever run is a bath lol, and she was able to vaguely hit the ball into a court every now and again (it was often the wrong court entirely x) but she went on a date to this venue and can confirm it’s amazing. There’s no pressure, the coaches are really encouraging and all abilities are encouraged, it is so much fun.
How do I get there?
It’s a short walk from Hackney Wick or a 20 minute walk from Stratford, it’s also on loads of bus routes. The address is Bola Beach Tennis, Basset Lane, Hackney Wick, E95EN, and the what three words location is ///tennis.cost.ropes
I’ll struggle to arrive from 6pm after work!
No stress, get to us as soon as you can and we’ll make sure you get on a court x
